Obituary of Raymond F. Smith, Jr.
CAMERON: Raymond F. "Frank" Smith, Jr., 64, of Cty. Rte. 10 passed away peacefully Friday evening, September 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by the comfort, love and care of his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Frank was born March 29, 1954 in Bath to the late Raymond F. and Helen L. (Nolton) Smith. On June 21, 1980, in Cameron, he married the former Tamala "Tammy" Eirick who survives and resides in Cameron.
Frank was a track inspector for the former Conrail railroad out of Hornell for 26 years retiring in 1988. He was a member and past fire chief for the Cameron Vol. Fire Dept., a former councilman for the Town of Cameron and a past member of the Corning Moose Club.
Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR racing. He loved to take car rides around the surrounding area with his family and his dog "Bailey" and was known to never take the same way home twice.
In addition to his wife Tammy, Frank is survived by a daughter: Kristy Fillmore (Wyatt DeCamp) of Cameron, two sons: Sam (Tasha) Smith and William Smith all of Cameron, five grandchildren, Nicholas Smith, Natalie Fillmore, Angel Smith, Sam Smith, Jr. and Haydyn DeCamp.
Frank is also survived by one sister Ella Mae Herrington of Woodhull, two brothers Gerald "Jake" (Marjorie) Smith and Wayne (Audrey) Smith all of Cameron, uncles, William (Joyce White) Nolton and Richard Nolton, Herbert (Irene) Smith of Cameron, aunts Wanda Boyd of TN. Dorothy Yarka of Cameron and Beverly Conklin of Addison and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Per Frank's request there will be no calling hours or service. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date and time. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
