Gordon C. Cronk, 58, of Village Square Apartments, Painted Post, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 13, 2012 at home. Gordy was born in Corning, NY on March 1, 1954, the son of Carl E. and Shirley A. Lewis Cronk. He was a 1973 graduate of Addison Central School. Gordy followed his parents to Tennessee after they had moved there and worked in maintenance at Mike Rose Foods in Nashville. He also worked for a time for Cumberland Creamery there. He had also been an over the road truck driver as well as having worked in construction in Virginia. One of Gordy's greatest pleasures had been racing stock cars with his Dad. His parents, Carl and Shirley, had preceded him in death. Surviving are his daughter and son in law, Tammy and Mark Leonard of Smyrna, TN, his son and daughter in law, Carl and Amanda Cronk of Ashland City, TN, his sisters and brothers in law, Gail and Dale VanEtten of Smyrna, TN, Charlene and Tony Carapella of Campbell, Sandra Lombardo of Madison, TN and Becky and Jim Abernathy of Smyrna, his grandchildren, Jamie, Samantha, Lil Mark, Dillon, Brenna, Faith and Cassandra. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Locally, visitation will be held on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 2 to 4 PM at the Woodhull Cemetery Chapel in Woodhull. A time of remembrance and celebration of Gordy's life will follow there at 4 PM. Gordy's children are planning a Memorial Service in Smyrna, TN at a later date.
