Obituary of Patricia C. Ackley

       Jasper, NY | Patricia C. “Cindy” Ackley, 68, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Jasper, NY on Tuesday, October 16.

       Cindy was born in Waverly, NY on June 2, 1950. She was the daughter of the late Clayton C. Slocum and Bernice I. Burchell Slocum. Following high school, she studied nursing and became a registered nurse. She held several jobs in the health care field but most of her time working was spent in home health care.

       Cindy was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She also loved to watch reality and talent competition type TV shows.

       Surviving Cindy is her companion of over 20 years, Gary House of Jasper, her daughter, Charmane M. Davis of Binghamton, three grandchildren, Patrick, Brian and Jasmin, three great grandchildren, a sister, Wendy R. (William) Madison of Westfield, PA, along with many other family and friends who loved her and will miss her.

       Cindy was preceded in death by her brother Ted and another longtime partner, Ivan Morley.

       Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 23 from noon to 1 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Her funeral service will follow there at 1 pm with Rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating.

       Burial will be made in Champlin Cemetery, Westfield, PA.
