Obituary of Pamela Kaye Leonard

Pamela Kaye Leonard, 60 years old of Frostproof Florida, recently returned to her home in Middlesex New York. Pam, known as Katie for many years, passed away November 11, 2018 at 4:40 pm at Highland Hospital, Rochester NY with her Mother, Beverly and Step Father William Gleason at her side. Pam was a very private person. Pam spent her formative years in Canisteo NY and later years around the world.

 

Pamela was born on June 26, 1958 to Beverly Anne Waters (William Gleason) and Herman Bruce Leonard in Hornell NY. She attended Canisteo and graduated from Canisteo High School in 1976. She furthered her education at D’youville College in Buffalo NY and graduated with a Bachelors in Biology and Nursing and a Masters in Nursing as Family Nurse Practitioner at St. John Fisher, East Rochester NY. She worked at many Hospitals in New York, Florida, Kentucky, Ghana Africa, Mexico, Switzerland and around the country as Emergency and Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care Nurse, Heart Transplant and Brain Surgery Nurse. She was also a transition flight Nurse. She is a Certified Full Shaman, Spiritual Healer and received her Doctorate of Divinity. Pam is a born researcher and has read thousands of books and has the knowledge of many degrees. She speaks four languages and also worked in Switzerland and Africa as translator. Pam is an expert in Ancestry and Geneology and traveled the world searching out her ancestry.

 

Pam is survived by her mother Beverly (William) Gleason of Middlesex, NY, father Herman Leonard of Clearfield, KY, sister Connie Morrison of Hamburg NY, brother David Leonard of Geneva NY, step-sisters Mary Theresa (Donald) Black of Lima NY and Beth Evangelist of Canaseraga NY. Pam was very close to her aunt Mary Faulkner of Scio NY and her aunt Renee Ormsby who predeceased her. Pam’s very close friend and cousin Dawn Wragg, always there for her and Soul and Best Friend forever Alice (Jay) Macomber of Ft. Pierce Florida, nearly a blood relative. Aunts and uncles: Leo Waters, Dale Waters, David (Chris) Waters, James (Lynn) Waters, Mary (David) Faulkner, Donna Waters, Charlotte (Floyd) Spicer, Renee (Gene) Ormsby and Fred Leonard. Pam is predeceased by her grandmothers: Sarah Waters and Elisie Leonard; grandfathers: William Waters and James H. Leonard; aunts and uncles: David Faulkner, Renee Ormsby, Charlotte Spicer, Gerald Leonard, Jeannett (Ketchner) Leonard, Edward Leonard, Clifford Leonard, Charles Leonard and Arthur Leonard.

 

The family will receive friends from 11 am -1 pm Wednesday, November 14, at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo, where a funeral service will take place immediately following calling hours at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

 

Memorial contributions in Pam’s name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
