Keith M. Harrington, 47, of Main St. Jasper, went to be with his Lord on Saturday afternoon, July 21, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. Keith was born in the Town of Urbana on Oct. 20, 1964. He was the son of the late Anna May Draper Walrath and Russell Walrath. He grew up in Jasper. Even though born deaf and later developing other physical disabilities, Keith lived a very happy and fulfilling life. He was educated at the Rochester School for the Deaf. When returning home, Keith attained a degree at Corning Community College. He loved auto racing, particularly Sprint Car Racing and grew up attending Woodhull Raceway. He truly enjoyed traveling and loved being near motorcycles. He became a very talented artist and was a masterful sketcher and air brush artist. With all the troubles that Keith lived with, he never lost his faith in God or the people around him that he loved so dearly. His zest for life never waned. He always had a huge smile for all that encountered him. Surviving are his sister and brother in law, Marjorie and Doug VanHoven of Rexville, his brother and sister in law, Robert and Patty Williams of Jasper, his nieces and nephews, Hank (Val) Williams, Bonita (Jeff) Hawkins, Janene (Michael) Cady, Michael (Wendy) Bartholomew, Jason (Yolanda) Williams, Stephen (Amanda) Bartholomew, Shawnon Bartholomew, Lee (Beth) VanHoven and Scott (Shannon) VanHoven, his aunts, Betty Miller of Lancaster, Pa. , Eva McCaig and Arda Draper, both of Addison and a host of friends who's lives were touched by Keith. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 24 at the United Church of Jasper from 2-5 PM. His funeral services will follow at 5 PM with Pastor David Barnard officiating. Burial will be in Jasper Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 E. Corning Road, Corning, NY.
