Obituary of Frank A. Marshall
CANASERAGA/HOLLY HILL, Fl.: Frank A. Marshall, 85, formerly of Ste. Rte. 70 Canaseraga, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, January 4, at his home in Holly Hill Florida after an extended illness.
Frank was born May 3, 1933 in Willing, N.Y. to the late George and Mildred (Kemp) Marshall. On June 23, 1973 in Austinburg, Pa. he married the former Lois Drake, who predeceased him in June of 2018. He was also predeceased by a daughter Linda Marshall, sister, Jennie Fowler and a step-son Thomas Tuttle.
Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving our country proudly and honorably during the Korean War from 1954 to 1958. He was a stockman and truck driver for the NYSDOT out of Hornell for 23 years retiring in November of 1990.
Frank was a very devoted church member of both the Larger Parish Church and Valley Wesleyan Church of Canaseraga and the Garwoods Methodist Church. He was a member of the Young at Heart retirees group of Canaseraga, a life member of the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) and of the Canaseraga American Legion.
Frank was also an avid gardener enjoying his time spent growing vegetables and a variety of flowers. He was very generous with his time, often volunteering for the Office of the Aging assisting when ever he could. Frank was well admired throughout his community as evident with the abundance of friendships he had through the years.
Frank is survived by two sons, David Marshall of Hornell and James Marshall of Canaseraga, a daughter: Christine Rowan (Richard Nation) of Holly Hill, FL. seven grandchildren, Khristin, Ryan, and Bridgett Marshall, Mercedes, William C. and Andrew Rowan and Jullienna Mulikin.
The family will receive friends from Noon-2 pm Saturday, January 12th at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main Street in Canisteo where a funeral service with military honors will take place immediately following calling hours at 2:00 pm. Frank will be laid to rest in the Canaseraga Cemetery.
