Obituary of Nancy L. Baker
Nancy L. Baker, 73, of Andover and formerly of Hornell, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Nancy was born in Woodhull, NY on March 16, 1945, the daughter of the late Clifford L. and Velma I. (Strait) Doty Sr. She attended Corning Northside High School.
On September 20, 1963, she and Roy L. Baker Jr. were married in Woodhull. They eventually made their home together in Hornell. Nancy was a homemaker and stay at home Mom as well as being co-owner and operator with Roy of JB’s Taxi in Hornell.
Roy preceded her in death on November 26, 2002. Nancy was also predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Baker on September 12, 1986 and her granddaughter, Britney Leigh Baker.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Roy L. and Doreen Baker III of Wellsville, Scott and Niki Baker of Hornell, Kelly and Brenda Baker of Andover and Tina and Rudy Davila of Arizona City, AZ, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, her siblings, Carol Doty of Canisteo, Mary (Bill) Stephens of Eloy, AZ, Clifford Doty Jr. of Canisteo, Alan Doty of Canisteo, Linda Atkins of Arizona City, AZ, Sharon Cardenas of Casa Grande, AZ, Gloria Doty of Casa Grande, AZ and Teresa Cardenas of Phoenix, AZ and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 10 from noon to 2 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will be held there at the conclusion of visitation with Rev. Patrick Harrison officiating.
Burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery.
