I have many pleasant memories of John as my guidance counselor, and especially as a Boy Scout leader. I was in Troop 14, and he was part of that besides Troop 83. I have no doubt that he is in the presence of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, and may the Lord wrap his arms of comfort around his family at this time and their grief be short, as they celebrate his home-going to Beulah Land.
