Obituary of Mary A. Decker
Mary A. Decker, 91, of St. Rte. 417, Woodhull, NY, passed away Monday morning, February 4, 2019 at Elcor Health Services in Horseheads.
Born in Osceola, PA on August 13, 1927, Mary was the daughter of William H. and Carrie Rowland Wilson. She is married to Foster O. Decker.
Mary had been employed at Electri-Cord in Westfield, PA and later at Galeton Products in Galeton, PA.
Mary and Foster organized and operated the long running community dances in Addison, NY for 12 years which were always held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month. In Mary’s memory and honor, Foster will continue the dances in order for her legacy to live on. To honor Mary, the dance scheduled for this week will still be held on Friday evening.
Besides her husband Foster, Mary is survived by her sons, Burt Fuller Jr. of Addison, Kenneth Fuller of Delaware, Frank McNett of Florida and Terry McNett of Wellsboro, PA, her step children, Carl Decker of Horseheads, Pamela Foley of Watkins Glen, Christina VanDerworker of PA and Timothy Decker of Bath, several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her children, Eldean Aldrich and Ernie Fuller and her siblings, Vesta Hurd, Vivian Cratsley, Jim Wilson, Henry Wilson and Robert Wilson.
Friends may call on Thursday, February 7 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will be held there on Friday at 11 am.
Burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery. Following cemetery services, a celebration gathering will be held at the Woodhull Fire Station with a dish to pass meal. All are invited.
