Obituary of Sarissa N. Baker
Jasper, NY | Sarissa N. Baker, 50, of State Route 417, Jasper, NY, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday afternoon, February 16, 2019.
Sarissa was born in New York City on February 8, 1969. She was the daughter of Christopher and Geraldine (Bieber) Mamalis. She grew up in New Jersey. She had resided in Tennessee for a period of time and she truly enjoyed her time there.
On August 8, 2001, she married Thomas J. Baker in Jasper. They made their home together their in Tom’s home town. Sarissa was an avid reader and a lover of animals. She had an artistic appreciation and truly enjoyed poetry. She was known for having a wonderful sense of humor, even when challenges were presented.
Surviving Sarissa is her husband, Thomas Baker of Jasper, her mother, Geraldine Mamalis of Wayne, NJ, her brother and sister in law, Christopher and Valerie Mamalis of Alexandria, VA, her step mother, Dorothy Mamalis and 2 nephews and 1 niece.
Sarissa was preceded in death by her father, Christopher Mamalis.
A memorial service will be held at the family’s convenience.
