Obituary of Edward J. Presor
Edward J. “Bud” Presor, 86, of Hunter Hill Road, Troupsburg, NY, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from Elderwood at Hornell in North Hornell. His loving wife was by his side.
Bud was born in Patterson, New Jersey on June 14, 1932, the son of the late Edward and Ella L. Mutch Presor.
In 1952 Bud enlisted in the US Air Force where he made a career, serving until 1975. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. On December 27, 1953, he and the former Janet E. Brutsman were married in Troupsburg. Following Bud’s retirement from the Air Force, they made their home together on her family’s farm in Troupsburg. Bud then began a 19 year employment with K Mart in Wellsville, NY from where he finally retired.
Bud and Janet were both very active and devoted members of the Troupsburg Baptist Church. He was a very loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving Bud is his wife of 65 years, Janet Presor of Troupsburg, his children and their spouses, Sandra and Gary Swain of Blytheville, AR, Cathy and Douglas Matney of Oklahoma City, OK, Edward J. and Robin Presor Jr. of Westfield, PA and William Presor of Prattville, AL, his grandchildren, Amber Parish, Sara Young, Brian Swain, Rachel Kennedy, Heather Moon, Jessica Matney, Rebecca Rodgers, Kourtney Presor and Justin Presor , 8 great grandchildren and his brother, Charles (Dorothy) Presor of St. Augustine, FL.
Friends may call on Monday, March 4 from 1 to 2 pm at the H. P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will follow there at 2 pm with Pastor Larry Adee officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Troupsburg.
Donations in Bud’s memory are suggested for the Troupsburg Baptist Church.
