Obituary of Gary D. Sherer

CAMERON: Gary D. Sherer, 72, of Oak Hill Rd. passed away unexpectedly, peacefully Monday morning, March 11, 2019 at his home.

Gary was born March 25, 1946 in Bath to the late Douglas and Louise (Zeh) Sherer. On November 9, 1970 in Buena Vista, he married the former Linda Judd who survives and resides in Cameron.

Gary was a life-long resident of Oak Hill where he grew-up farming and continued working the family farm until his passing. He enjoyed attending many farm auctions in the surrounding area and loved to tinker in his shop.

Gary enjoyed hunting with family and friends and was always ready with a good joke, a quick smile and hearty laugh. He was a very proud grandfather who adored his grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them. Gary was a good hard-working man who did everything for his family and friends out of love and adoration.

In addition to his wife Linda, Gary is survived by a son William (Erika) Sherer of Cameron, a daughter, Terri (William) Stewart of Canisteo, five wonderful grandchildren: Cole, Faith and Trig Sherer, Matthew and Troy Stewart. Gary is also survived by two brothers: Larry (Janet) Sherer of Cameron, Kenneth (Patricia) Sherer of Bath, a sister: Juanita Baker of FL. and his "adopted son" Cliff Kent, Jr. who spent countless time on the Sherer Farm. He was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Welch.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, March 14th and 10:00 am to noon Friday, March 15th at the Buena Vista Wesleyan Church, Cty. Rte. 69 Canisteo, where a memorial service will take place immediately following calling hours on Friday at 12:00 pm.
