Obituary of Rita A. Stage

MONTOUR FALLS: Rita A. Stage, 85, formerly of Monterey and Campbell, passed away Thursday (August 2, 2012) at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls following a long illness. Rita was born June 24, 1927, in the town of Canisteo (Adrian) to Kenneth and Pearl (Randolph) Beebe. On June 23, 1946 in Canisteo, she married Paul R. Stage, Sr. who predeceased her in September of 1997. She was also predeceased by an infant son Kenneth Lawrence Stage in 1953, a daughter Fay Howard in May of 2012, two sisters: Althea and Marjorie Beebe and son-in-law Howard Salisbury in June of 2007 Rita was a graduate of Canisteo Central School and was a housewife and mother. She had worked outside her home for a time at Corning Glass's Pirex Division and also at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira in the laundry dept. She was a member of the Elmira Moose Club and the Campbell American Legion Auxillary. Survivors include a son Paul R. (Donna) Stage, Jr. of Elmira, two daughters: Marjorie (Craig) Wellman of King Ferry, NY and Cathy (Rocky) Brey of Newark. She is also survived by a sister: Joyce (Gary) Landolf of Painted Post, son-in-law Bruce Howard of Las Cruces, N.M. as well as 11 grand children and 19 great grand children and several nieces and nephews. There will be no public calling hrs. or service, a private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo.
