Obituary of Maynard H. Baker

            Maynard H. Baker of Los Altos, CA passed away on October 10, 2018 at home.

            He was born in Woodhull, NY on December 25, 1929 to the late Claude D. Baker and Mildred Harry Baker. He graduated from Woodhull High School, class of 1947.

            He served in the United States Air Force in Seoul, Korea during the Korean Conflict. After returning home he worked for IBM as one of their top field technicians, serving in the Philippines, Japan, Thailand, South Korea and South Viet Nam during the Viet Nam War. When he returned home he was given the highest award for service above and beyond the call of duty for a civilian in Viet Nam.

            He is survived by a brother, Zane Baker of Addison, NY and a sister, Shirley Michaluk of Gang Mills, NY, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Ivan Baker, Ervin Baker, Claude Baker, Milford Baker and Bernard Baker, and sisters, Irma Willis and Doris Flint.

            A graveside service will be held at Woodhull Cemetery on Saturday, September 28 at 1 pm. Rev. Brian Diffenbacher will officiate.
