Donald F. Hartman, 84, of Beecher Square, Nelson, Pa. entered into rest on Saturday morning, August 18, 2012 at Carleton Senior Care Center in Wellsboro, Pa. Born in Lindley, NY on November 27, 1927, Don was the son of Anton and Nellie Corwin Hartman. He served in the US Army from April 1946 to September 1947, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He was employed in various aspects of building trades for a large part of his life and retired as a self employed heating and cooling technician. Don was a member of the Elkland Moose Lodge 746, the Knoxville VFW Post 6783 and the Leon O'Bryan Memorial Post American Legion in Elkland. Preceding Don in death were his son, Richard Hartman, his grandson, Devon Collier, his former wife, Lorraine Rogers Hartman, his brothers, Elton Hartman and Roger Hartman and his sisters, Pearl Hurd, Mildred Fitzwater, Marjorie Dunning and Marlea Benedict. He is survived by his sons, Ronald (Tyammy) Hartman of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Reggie Hartman of Nelson, Pa. and Robbie Hartman of Elkland, Pa., his daughters, Dawn (Daniel) Roe of Osceola, Pa. and Dianna Collier of Elkland, Pa., 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, his sister, Phyllis Baker of Nelson, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 6-9 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will be conducted there on Thursday at 11:00 AM with rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Caton, NY with military honors.
