Obituary of Leo Joseph Grumley

REXVILLE/CLIFTON SPRINGS: Leo Joseph "Pete" Grumley, formerly of Rexville, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on Monday, October 28, 2019 at Clifton Springs Nursing Home where he resided for the last five years.

Leo, who was better known as "Pete", was born on March 28, 1939 in Hornell to the late Robert J. and Susan K. (O'Hara) Grumley.

He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army 19th Infantry from 1963-1965. Pete was employed as a welder and pipe fitter working overseas and the Bahamas. Returning to the states, he worked at various Nuclear plants until retirement. Pete loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman and always had a smile and a joke on his lips. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Pete is survived by a brother, Dale (Mary Ann) Grumley of Canandaigua, beloved nephew and niece Timothy and Bridget Grumley (who he fondly called Skeeter) and a great niece Megan, along with several cousins.

The family will receive friends from noon - 2 pm Saturday, November 2nd at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo, where a funeral service will take place immediately following calling hours at 2:00 pm.

Burial will follow at St. Mary's Churchyard Cemetery in Rexville, with Military Honors.
