I was so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Our families had a lot of fun times together during your visits to SC when all the "girls" were little.

Jim Taft...One of the last of a rare breed. I consulted with Jim regarding crops and cows through Agway. What an inspiration to me, and to all others. Jim and family, I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Often times we would shoot the bull about everything but what I was there for. I still liked it. He was about a month older than my father and was very active. May God Bless you Jim, along with those that are suffering over the loss of you. You are in a better place, and we need to somehow find peace with that.

I am profoundly sorry for your loss. I was only 6 years old when my family moved away from Woodhull, but I remember playing at the Taft’s and being chased by their dog Dell ( Dell used to love to chase the Smith kids). Jim used to let me watch the milking process as he and my uncle would milk the herd. I was very fascinated by it. He also used to tease me and make me laugh and shriek. One of his favorite things to do was take out his false teeth and chase me with them. Oh the shrieks he would hear then. I remember even at that young age that he was a character and always a very kind man to me. Prayers for all who knew and mourn him. May he and Mary Jane rest in peace. Stacey Smith Griffiths (daughter of Duane and Jean Smith)

I remember Jim donating the use of his barn and equipment for EMS training on farm accidents. Always generous with his time and a good steward of the land. My heartfelt sympathies to Linda and family.
