I am so sad, both of Barb's death and that I had not known of it. I would most certainly have driven to Canisteo for the Calling and Service. Barb has always been the one to call me at my home in Henrietta and let me know of important happenings in Canisteo. Her kindness to our family during my late sister-in-law's illness and death was a wonderful gift. Her continued support as a hospice nurse to my brother, Clinton Snyder, long after his wife's, Ann (Ross) Snyder's, death was so wonderful. When Barb walked in the house, her calm demeanor offered such comfort.
My heart aches for Dick and Barb's extended family. Please know you have my deepest sympathy.
Sincerely,
Dora Lee (Snyder) Alexander

Please accept my condolences on the death of Barb. She was the person to whom so many went for information, encouragement and general support. That innate sense of what was needed obviously led her to her career and her life which was so loving and generous. Helen often called Barb for answers and assurance. At later times Helen asked me to call and Barb’s response was direct and as always loving to her sister-in-law.
Sincerely, Carol Topping

I had what I can only describe as a privilege to not only work along side Barb but also to learn from her. She was not only a friend but a mentor as well. You knew if Barb was your nurse you had a compassionate, attentive, and patient advocate as a nurse who would always be in your corner. She was what nursing is suppose to be and that was not only how she interacted with her patients but with her family and friends as well. Barb had wanted to go to Haiti with us on some of our trips and unfortunately she never did get to do that but we always knew she was supporting us while there. I am sure that Barb would say that here life wasn't that big of a deal but to the thousands of patients and their families whom she touched she was the real deal. You will be missed our friend.

Although gone 50+ years from Canisteo, I have several special people who will remain in my heart... Barb is one of those!! Most of those memories involve her nursing skills and, even more, her caring. She took care of my Mom, Margaret Hartman, several times in St James...I was always impressed w her professional and gentle manner and will be thankful forever. Heaven will be even more blessed w her there. Thank you, Barb!

Dearest Mr. Terry, Nancy and Judy
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. What a beautiful lady Mrs. Terry was. In the begining of May I was out walking my son's dog . He is 13. We stopped as your dad was on the porch. I reintroduced myself, Sharon Granger, knowing you Nancy in orchestra together etc . Your mom had come out also. We talked for hours. Wonderful conversation. Not only that, but your mom was my nurse so many times, including at least my oldest son's birth. I will always remember that day. You have wonderful parents. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.
