William D. Recktenwald, 67, of Paul Road, Troupsburg New York, passed away on October 16, 2023.
Born November 12, 1955 to the late Alan Recktenwald and Dorothy Jean (Sackett) Recktenwald, William was known for his love of hunting and Harley’s. Some thought of him as a bit of a hermit, and he would jokingly talk about finding a hole in a tree in the woods to go live in. When it came to engineering and mechanics William was unmatched, as was demonstrated in his job as a tool maker for Corning Inc. As William started to realize his time was running short, he was often heard using the phrase, “I’ve had a good run.”
Surviving William is his long-time partner Ernestine Ball of Elkland, PA; Brother Alan Recktenwald Jr. of Woodhull; Sister Ann Marie Graff of Siletz, OR; Grandchildren: Aiyana, Maggie, Kalib, Max, Trevor, Emmitt; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Besides his parents, William was predeceased by his brother Stephen Michael.
According to Williams wishes, there will be no services.
