Brenda and I were friends for 44 years. For nearly 30 years I'd stop and have coffee with her as I was on my way to college or work. She babysat my 3 children while I was college bound. It was was so hard going to college and working fulltime. She was a bossy thing though as many times I'd stop in on my way to college and then I'd say I'm not feeling up to college today. But she always insisted I get going. Well she didn't insist one day and the antics we got up is a memory to behold. We went shopping together. We'd help each other clean our houses, we took my coon dog and went night hunting on many occasions. One very dark night we couldn't find our way out of the woods we were in. Of course then you hear all sorts of weird noises that kinda frightened us. But we got out eventually.
There was a period of time we lost contact but when we reconnected it was as if no time had passed. She kept me updated and shared many things I had missed out on during our time apart. We knew each other totally and nothing could surprise us as we knew what each other was capable of. It was a wonderful ride Brenda and I so wish this didn't happen. But our memories will always lift me up. I'll visit you and Gar and we'll remininse and I know you'll be there. In the meantime I know you're at peace again with Gar and Mom and Papa Smurf.
Lotsa Love.
Rest in Sweet Peace.
Cecelia

My beautiful mom,
You took me in when I needed it the most, you loved me unconditionally, you showed me unconditional love. You loved my daughters as your own granddaughters. They never knew you as anyone, but grandma. You taught me everything I know about animals, cooking, baking, gardening, life, relationships and most of all, you showed me who I didn't want to be. For that, thank you.
Thank you for loving me, my daughters...thank you for being there for me...thank you for my garden addiction...thank you for my love of animals...thank you for teaching me to never give up, to work hard. My success comes from you!
My love for Tennessee...the place I call home....all you.
There is a huge hole in my heart, I don't know how to live without you, but the love you showed me throughout the years, will get me through. I will miss you forever, I will love you for always.
Love,
Your oldest daughter- Danielle

I'm going to miss you bad. I would walk up the hill to your house every morning to play over farm game and drink coffee. Laughing our butt's off and watching it snow. Going to Friday fish fry. When I was having a bad day you always helped me though it. Love you Brenda.

I’ve met Brenda several times and she was always kind .. Her smile was contagious. She had away with Animals that I never understood it was like Dr. Doolittle . I’ve been told she didn’t have an easy life for many years but you would never know it by her kindness , compassion and generosity towards others. She didn’t have a problem telling you what was on her mind that’s for sure direct yet firm and with a smile . . She was even funny at times . ‘ The poorest people were the most generous and The ones who had it hard were the kindest “ and that fit Brenda to a tee. I would like to offer my condolences to the family .. She loved you more then you will ever know .. Rest In Peace Darling …
