Brenda K. Space, 63, of County Route 71, Jasper, NY, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville following failing health.
Brenda was born in Rochester on May 31, 1961, the daughter of Charles and Ethel Brimmer Shauf. Her family made their home in Caledonia, NY when she was a child but they moved to Steuben County while Brenda was in high school. She attended Troupsburg Central School.
On May 17, 1980, Brenda married Garfield G. Space in Troupsburg. He passed away suddenly on February 15, 2012.
As a young woman, Brenda was employed at Bethany Village in Horseheads. She later worked on the Waters Dairy Farm in Troupsburg, a job that she truly loved. She was a very involved parent and grandparent in the 4-H program.
Surviving Brenda is her longtime companion, Mark Stephens of Jasper, her children, Adam Space (Tessa Christian) of Cameron Mills, Amie Space (Earl George) of Jasper, Nathan (Brandi) Stephens, Matthew (Kayla) Stephens and Danielle (Jim) Spotts, her grandchildren, Courtland, William, Mitchell, Julia, Jadeyn, Shooter, Shelby, Becka and Riana, her siblings, Charles Shauf of Addison, Diane Benton of Troupsburg, Thomas (Clarice) Shauf of Addison, Scott Shauf of Jasper and Mike (Carrie) Beitsch of Rochester along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 17 at 11 am at the Woodhull Cemetery Chapel, St. Rte. 417 Woodhull. Rev. Brian Diffenbacher will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodhull Cemetery.
The family is being assisted by the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull.
