Obituary of Nancy Ann Rozell Lundquest

Nancy Ann Rozell Lundquest, 77, of Elmira, NY, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2013 after a long term illness. Nancy was born to William and Ethel Rozell on December 31st, 1935, in Glens Falls, NY. She was the youngest of 11 children. Nancy graduated from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, where she earned a degree in elementary education. Her ensuing career as a passionate and dedicated teacher spanned 34 years. She taught for one year in Queensbury, NY, seven years in Danbury, Connecticut, and the remaining 26 years in the Elmira City School District. She retired from the District in 2003. Nancy was a consummate cook and loved hosting dinner parties for family and friends. She volunteered at several community organizations over the years and taught "English as a Second Language" for several years. Nancy also loved tanning. During daylight hours from sun-up on Easter Sunday to sun-down on Labor Day, she could be found in the back yard, sunbathing in her bikini on her chaise lounge. She is predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Donald, William, John, Peter and Wayne, and her sister, Jane Nichols. She is survived by her brothers Robert and Richard (Sue) Rozell, her sisters Shirley (William) Busch, and Mary Havens, her loving daughters Krista (Larry) Northrup and Marta (Ken) Foster, and her three granddaughters, Morgan Northrup, Haley Northrup, and Carissa Lingg. She is also survived by several beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. At Nancy's request there will be no formal services. Donations are gratefully accepted and may be made in her memory to the Parley Coburn Family Resource Center. Parley Coburn Elementary School Family Resource Center 216 Mt.
