An amazing woman! Many words can explain grandma. But, Amazing is the best discription. I will miss her greatly. She has influenced so many lives with her wisdom and knowledge. There are so many things that made grandma so great and because of that she will never be forgotten. She will be remembered in every bite of Chocolate cake, egg on toast, and homemade scalloped potatoes! May you rest in peace grandma you will be missed.

So many memories come to mind when I think of you, Gramma...and as I think of them I am overcome with emotion. I remember staying over night with you and Scooter, Jim and I would play pranks on you (you probably knew what we were up to the whole time, but you played along), sledding down the hill behind your house, your apple pies and chocolate cake, your love of sewing, hearing stories about the bats in your house and how you would catch them, putting on "concerts" in your basement with Scooter and Jim, playing in the playhouse part of your garage, walking up the road to see the cows, catching crayfish in the creek, playing kick the can in your backyard...these are just some of the wonderful memories you left me with as I was growing up. As an adult, we had some great conversations when I came to visit. You were always so interested in everything I was doing. Thank you Gramma...thank you for the memories and thank you for being you. I love you so much and I celebrate your life.

A message to Mom Karns. . . From the first day I met you, when I started dating Marilyn, you greeted me with your warm smile and kind welcome. Over the forty-nine years of our relationship, you always had words of encouragement and made everyone feel comfortable. You made me feel like someone special in your life, and I have tried to do the same for those entering into our family circle as our kids have chosen partners. Mabelle, you exemplified great character as a loving person, have given us wonderful guidance along the way; have given us wonderful memories and many great little Mabelleisms like "By the Gee!" and "Oh Fudge!" Even though we picked on you, we all loved your way of expressing yourself. Our breakfasts together were especially cherished, for we could talk for hours about anything and everything, knowing we were safe to express. A cup of coffee will be served to you each day now surrounded by friends and family in the Heaven above. Love You MOM! Hugs and Kisses forever!

So sad a kind woman has passed. I am so blessed she was able to meet and be able to see her great grandson Cooper before she passed. He sure brought a brite smile on her face since his smiles are contagious. We will miss you greatly and you're up in the heavens as one of god's angels now. RIP Love, Kellie Joe and Cooper

I remember Grandma as a sweet and kind person, always there for her family and grand kids, exchange students included. I have so many great memories from Arkport, and Grandma is an important part of many of them. I remember her always smiling, always having the time to listen and always with a kind word. My sincere condolences to all of the family, may she rest in peace

I always looked forward to our summer visits to Gramma Karns house. We always had so much fun with her. She was loving, thoughtful, and always laughing. I've never had a better grilled cheese sandwich and I am still trying to master her chocolate frosting. She definitely kept us full with her great cooking. Our daughter is now sayin fiddle-dee-dee when she makes a mistake andit always remind me of Gramma Karns. We will miss her and may she rest peacefully.

Gramma was the most perfect Gramma a girl could have. I have such fond memories of all the trips back to NY to visit her. She always amazed me at her quick wit, drive to do everything herself including climbing ladders, mowing lawns, whippin' up a meal with no recipes, and the sheer energy that she had was impressive. She was always so loving and welcoming to us all and really listened. She will truly be missed. I wish my husband and kids had a chance to meet such a special woman. She has set the standard high and we will do our best to follow in her steps. We love and miss you dearly Gramma.

It is never difficult to sense the wonderful influence Gramma has had on my life, my family's lives, and the lives of all her friends and neighbors. We are all kinder, happier, and more grounded people for it. To me she was a perfect Gramma and an amazing, special lady. I will always have the fondest memories of her and so many light-hearted stories to tell from as far back as I can remember. Gramma, you will always be loved and missed.

I wish I had the opportunity to get to know Gramma Karns better than the quick trip and time we had together. I feel as though I know her thru the stories and great memories shared by her children and grandchildren. Her legacy, charm and wit will live on, and my children will benefit from having Marilyn has their Gramma who embodies much of Mabelle's character.

You set a high standard for us to follow, Mom; and I only hope that I can live my life as graciously and as positively as you did. As a mother, you were the best. Because of you, the memories of our childhood are filled with much happiness, creativity, and fun family times. Because of you, memories in our adulthood included acceptance, gentleness, and listening. And always there was laughter and love. I will especially miss our long conversations over breakfast or on the phone which was our special time together. How lucky Heaven is to have you. Mom. Until we meet again... Loving you always, Marilyn
