Walt was a valued acquaintance of mine from the Centenary Methodist Church in Bath where he and Kathleen attended regularly until her death and he continued to. Kathleen was one of a very few who always wore a hat to church! I would sometimes encounter Walt at McDonald's where he would go for coffee and to read the paper after looking after his mother who lived in town. We had many diverse and interesting conversations about any number of things. I told him about a neighbor of his on Campbell Street and later found he'd followed up and become good friends with him and visited him routinely until his passing. He often spoke of his family with a lot of love and seemed to demonstrate his friendliness with most everyone. He will be missed. I misread the paper and had a lovely drive to Woodhull yesterday to pay my respects-- a week late!
