You have done a great job in saving that much money. Congratulations! Now take that down pamenyt that you have and start car shopping. 3500 will buy an 18 year old a lot of car. If you have that cash then you probably will be able to buy a car that is listed at a little above that. Then you will have a paid for car. If your only going to be making 150 to 200 dollars a week then 1 week a month will go to the car pamenyt.Another reason to pay for you car in cash is if you lose your job and can't make the pamenyt. Then you will be going crazy because you will be scared of losing your car. If you pay cash then it will be yours.Just guessing if it is 10,000 then it is probably an 02, or an 03. That means that by the time you have it paid for then it,10000 plus 4000 in interest, will be close to about 10 years old and worth 3000 dollars. So in six years you have lost around 1100 dollars. Or about 1500 a year just thrown away.If you were to buy that car outright and start saving that 150 a month in a year you would have 1800 dollars. In two years you would have 3600 and a car worth 2500. Actuall net worth 6100 dollars.Borrowing on the other car you would have an 8000 dollar car and still owe 10000 in pamenyt a -2000 net worth. In six years you would have a car worth 3000 dollars that you paid 14000 dollars for in total. -11000.By saving you would have a car worth 1500 and saved 9000 dollars +7000 to the good. With your positive net worth you could sell you first car and put you savings with it and buy a 6000 dollar car. Plus you have money saved all the time for emergencies to repair the car.Don't fall victim to the conventional wisdom that newer have fewer problems and there for are a better buy. They may have a few fewer problems but by the time you get one used it is about time for the problems to start. If you have money saved to take care of the repairs and do the maintenance then those problems won't be the end of the world. Was this answer helpful?

I am so sad to hear of Scott's untimely passing. "Rocker", as I called him, was one of the hottest/talented rock guitarists I had ever had the pleasure of playing with. Funny and foolish, he always got me laughing. I'll be forever saddened, knowing he has passed away too soon. Requiescant in Pace, my friend

When Scott took on the Material Distribution Center (MDC) job I would often stop by and talk to him about music. I also was involved in the music and band industry in the 1970's so I shared a lot in common with Scott when it came to music. I nicknamed him 'JPJ' (for Jimmy Page Jr.) who was the accomplished Led Zeppelin guitarist. As a somewhat of a guitar connoisseur myself, I could easily identify talent when I saw it, and Scott was truly an exceptional talent on the guitar. I will miss him and he will truly be missed by all that knew him. Rest in Peace JPJ!

I had the pleasure of meeting Scott over 9 years ago when he worked in the Inventory Management Section, he was always full of laughter and joy. There was never a dull moment with him around. Scott always put the customers, Veterans, and their families first. Please accept our deepest sympathies for your loss... our thoughts are with you and your family during this most difficult time. Scott truly will be missed by all.

First and foremost, Scott was my close friend. He was a brother in Arms. He was also a great guitarist, and played in Bluesbox 50 for a while. He was a member of The United States Army Brotherhood of TANKERS. USABOT. To say he will be missed is a gross understatement. He brightened your day when you saw him. Always positive and ready with a smile and encouragement. Rest in Peace, my brother. See you on Fiddlers Green.

We knew Scott as Warren, a very friendly man with a big heart and a quick smile; ;he played a mean guitar as well as sang and wrote songs. We will all miss him as he was a member(family) of the Bluz Shak as well as Christy who was always by his side. Condolences to his family and friends, as well as fellow musicians. It was a very sad day in SC when we lost our friend.

Scott was a wonderful person who understood the true meaning of the word "team". He was always more focused on the good of serving Veterans than his own benefit. He made many great contributions to the Dorn VAMC while assigned to the Logistics team. His work here will not be forgotten. Please accept our sincere condolences. Scott was a remarkable man and everyone at Dorn VAMC is better for having known him. For those of us that had the privilege of calling him "friend" outside of work, we were humbled by his kindness and compassion toward everyone around him.

Brother Scott had a kind and meek spirit that was placed in his heart only by God. I take solace from the fact that Brother Scott has salvation, and knowing he is heaven bound is all important. Rest in peace my Brother, for you will be missed greatly. To the family, my prayers go out for you all.

I echo the same sentiments on this page. I just cannot believe I am talking past tense regarding Scott. Just about a week ago, Scott and I were talking hockey. The only guy in SC that would take the time to talk hockey with me. I was blasting some 80's rock in his honor this weekend. To his family, please find solace in the fact that Scott was loved by all. He touched us all, you can never be in a bad mood with Scott around. He will surely be missed. The angels now have an entertainer up there because Scott is making someone laugh or smile now, whether its through his music or his jokes or just saying something nice. Rest in Peace my friend and its an honor to have known you. Go Eagles and Sabres!!!

It's still difficult to believe that Scott is gone from this earth. As it has been previously stated, Scott was a great man, and seemed to always have a smile on his face. Just last Monday, his last day at work, he stood by my desk and we talked for probably a half hour about family, work, life in general. No knowing that less than 48 hours later he would be gone. There is no doubt that Scott will be missed, and I hope his family can take comfort in knowing what a good man and hard worker he really was. I pray that God brings comfort to his children, grand-children, and loved ones in the coming days and weeks. I'll cheer for the Eagles this season, for you Scotty!

Scott was truly one of those people that always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. He was never in a bad mood. He absolutely treasured his kids and kept us up to date on how everyone was doing. I will always picture him peeking his head into my office with a large smile and something nice to say. The world has a large hole in its heart without Scott. RIP buddy. xoxo

Scott and I were in a band together. We kept busy entertaining others, as well as entertaining ourselves. We spent a good three years doing that. All I can say is, this band was the one I had the most fun in ever. I attribute most of that to Scotty. I will miss him, and think of him often.
