GASTON, S.C./CANISTEO: Scott W. Mullen, 51, formerly of Ste. Rte. 248 in Canisteo passed away unexpectedly Wednesday (April 22, 2015) at the Lexington Medical Center in Lexington S.C. after being stricken at home. Scott was born April 9, 1964 in Hornell to Robert and Beverly (Wallace) Mullen. On September 17, 1994 in Canisteo, he married the former Rebecca Hartman who resides in Dansville. Scott was a graduate of Canisteo Central School class of 1982. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving our country shortly after high school from 1986 to 1991 and was assigned to deployment for Iraqi Freedom. He had been employed as a supply tech/purchasing agent for 26 years for the Veterans Administration at the Canandaigua Medical Center in Canandaigua, NY and Dorn Medical Center in Columbia, SC Scott had a big heart, a warm smile, an easy laugh and the gift of gab. He had a generous and endearing personality who genuinely loved his family and friends. Scott was a consummate musician who loved to play the guitar. You felt his passion and soul in his music - "living as a rock star". He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles at all times, good and bad years and took many trips to Philly to take in the games. He also enjoyed racing and muscle cars, specifically Corvettes. Survivors include his dear and loving companion Christina Hoff of Gaston, S.C., wife Rebecca Mullen of Dansville, his children: Nicholas (April) Shay of Georgia, Brandi Rae Mullen of Corning, Scott Mullen of Lexington, S.C., Trevor Mullen of Dansville, Nathan Mullen of S.C. step-children: Ryan Masterson (Jesika Mullikin) of Hornell, Brandon Masterson (Nikita Negron) of Arkport, Alyssa Masterson, Devon Masterson (Ronnie Sosebee) of Hendersonville, N.C. , his grandchildren: Luc, Vincent Joseph, step-grandchildren: JD, Makenzie, Destiny, Mady, Lexi, Kyla, Kia, and Ayron. He is also survived by his parents Robert and Beverly Mullen of Canisteo, a brother: Jeffrey (Kathy) Mullen of Canisteo, two sisters: Deborah Rollins and Vicky (Ray) Schaffer both of Hornell, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 6-8 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo, where funeral and committal services will take place immediately following calling hrs. at 8:00 pm Burial will be in Bennetts Creek Cemetery, Greenwood, N.Y.
