I live out of state, so I only knew Bob for a short time. Whenever I would come back to PA, I would visit him with Laura Losinger. He was such a interesting and charming man. He would make me smile and I knew that I was in for a treat. I know that he loved God and he loved his wife, Lillian. There is no doubt in my mind, that he is looking down at us all from Heaven.

I want to Thank EVERY ONE for all there help in caring for Uncle Bob and Aunt Lillian in the past years. That included even my husband David. When we lived in Galeton he would go over very often to their home in Austinburg and do odd jobs for them. He got very close to them! Which was easy because they are very caring people! They have helped us out a lot and we Appreciated it Very Much! Uncle Bob will be missed Greatly!!We Loved him Very Much!!!

I also want to thank Laura and Bill Losinger for every thing they did for Aunt Lil and Uncle Bob. They went way beyond in their help for them. They treated them like their own family. I for one lived so far away that it was impossible to check on them but I thought about them all the time. Uncle Bob will be missed greatly but Aunt Lil will miss him the most as they were together for 62 years. Here is not th

So sorry to hear about Uncle Bob's passing. I have many great memories of the many visits and time we spent together throughout the many years. I still remember, as a child, going to visit He and Aunt Lil at their home in Jacksonville, FL when he worked with the Florida Health Department. He would take pictures of me watering the flowers in their yard or some other small task to put in the Health Dept. magazine. He has been painting for as long as I can remember and it seems like we always had at least one or two of his paintings hanging around the house growing up. I always enjoyed those special visits with him talking about his paintings the few times we were able to make it back up to the farm.

Uncle Bob Schoonover will be missed by a lot of people. He was a great artist, and we enjoyed his editorials in the local newspaper for years. He always thought of others, and he would give the shirt off of his back to help others. I would like to send a special Thank You to the Losinger family for their efforts to see that Uncle Bob and Aunt Lillian were able to spend his final days together. Also, Thank You to the Bath VA for all their help. We Love you Uncle Bob.

Bob has been a dear member of our entire family for my lifetime. My mother enjoyed going down to Austinburg where she visited many Schoonover and Clark family members. He will be greatly missed as well as all the wonderful memories on the farm. We hope that Lillian has some much needed support during this great loss in her life. We have enjoyed sharing their lives with them.

I am reminded that the generosity of Lillian and Bob Schoonover will be ongoing through the $80,000. they donated to the Northern Tioga School District, 2013. Funds will be given to students making careers in journalism, and nursing or teaching. The welfare of others was always uppermost in their minds, in addition to their love of the farm where they happily lived so many years. If Bob could have a book, or his paints, or take a ride around the farm with Larry, or sit and talk at the kitchen table, he was content. Again, he will be missed by many.

I Thank God for knowing Bob. His mom and my father were brother and sister. Bob loved his family and lived his life for his savior and Lord. Bob's contributions to family, friends, community, church and Country were endless. His writings and paintings are what I will always remember. God be with all of the family. Take comfort and peace from the fond memories we all have of Bob. His life will live on in our daily lives and our memories. Our prayers go out to family and friends.

Sorry for the loss to the family. Sylvia's granddaughter Dawn-Rose Ratcliff (my daughter) was lucky enough to be able to visit Bob and Lillian once before he passed. I know Dawn-Rose wishes she could have gotten to know him better, but living in Idaho made that impossible. He will be missed by many. Dawn-Rose will hopefully be able to learn more about him from stories in the future.
