Cameron Mills, NY | Samantha Z. Hoad, 28, of Pump Station Road, Cameron Mills, NY, passed away very suddenly on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell. Sam was born in Hornell on September 8, 1987 the daughter of James and Tammy Taylor Hoad. She grew up in Cameron Mills and was a 2006 graduate of Addison Central School. She had been employed by the Steuben County Sheriff's Office and the Steuben County 911 Center, performing secretarial tasks. Sam had many physical hurdles to deal with in her life but she always had a positive attitude about everything that involved her. She was very social and loved being a part of the daily activities of her family and friends. She was a member of the Cameron Fire Department, of which her family is heavily involved, Sam was a former long time 4H member and a die-hard Miami Dolphins fan. Sam was a very caring and loving daughter, sister and aunt. She adored her nieces and nephews and they in turn. She always enjoyed watching them compete in area go cart racing and their sporting events. Surviving Sam are her parents, Tammy and James Hoad of Cameron Mills, her sisters, Jamie and Robin Hoad of Cameron, Stacey and Gavin Foster of Woodhull and Hallie Hoad of Cameron Mills, her maternal grandmother, Eleane Taylor of Bath, her nieces and nephews, Paige Robinson, Hunter Hoad, Taylor Foster, McKenzie Foster and Gage Foster, her special friends, Latrisha McCaig and Kimberly Little, her loving caregivers, Kathy Waters and Pat Lee who became part of the family with their lifelong care, many aunts, uncles and cousins and special caregiver Kristen Medrek. Friends may call on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Sam's funeral service will be held there Tuesday at 11 AM with Rev. Morris Gridley Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery. Memorials in Samantha's name may be made to the Cameron Fire Department.��
