On behalf of The Lancaster Fencibles/79th PVI, we send our most sincere condolence and sympathy to his wife Charlotte and the rest of the Ney family, and the members of the 44th NYVI. Gene, as we knew him, was a long time former member of The Lancaster Fencibles/79th PVI in the 1970's and the 1980's where he held the rank of Captain and later Major. Gene was a trustee back then with the Columbia Fish and Game Association, in Columbia, Pa., and was instrumental in procuring the rifle range at the Columbia Fish and Game to be one of the official N-SSA's Middle Atlantic Region's ranges in the middle 70's and through the 80's. A lot of the older N-SSA members would remember the Columbia range. Rest in Peace Gene, and God Speed old friend. Francis J. Miller Jr,
