John Lee VanTreese, 59, of Tuscarora St. Addison, died quite suddenly on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. John was born in Hornell, NY on October 24, 1956 to Mary E. VanTreese. He was raised in Woodhull and was a graduate of Addison Central School. He also attended the auto body repair program at Coopers Plains BOCES. John was currently employed at the Golden Age Cheese Company in Woodhull. He had been a long time employee at Windows' Auto Body Shop in Addison prior to it's closing as well. He had also worked at Hibbard's Repair in Addison and for various farms in the area, especially the close relationship that he developed at the Harris Farm in Addison. He married the former Elizabeth Buchanan in 1998. Liz survives. Surviving besides Liz is his brother, Richard (Susan) VanTreese of Campbell, his sisters, Joane Gee of Addison and Joyce (Robert) Gardner of Woodhull, his step sons, Edward Buchanan of Corning and David Manwaring of Beaver Dams, 2 uncles and 1 aunt, his dear friend, David Harris of Addison and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother James VanTreese. Friends may call on Tuesday, March 8 from 6-8 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will be held there on Wednesday at 2 PM with Rev. Carl Hand officiating. Burial will be in Elk Creek Cemetery, Borden. Memorials in John's name may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses.��
