I cannot believe that this wonderful man died. Lewie was a great person. I knew him through the fire department, the racetrack and also Katie used to babysit me and I always used to go over to Lewie house across the road. Lewie, was a awesome guy, I'm not just saying this, he truely was. He was the type of guy if you ever need something he was there, or needed any advice on anything, he was there. Lewie to me growing up was like a grandpa. I grew up with his grandchildren, Bryce, Timmy, Brooke, Tori, Jamie, Justin and Trevor. When I heard Lewie was diagnosed with Cancer, I just couldn't believe it. I thought to myself what would life be like without him. I didn't see Lewie all that much, but when I did, I gave him a huge hug. The minute I woke up on June 18th and found out that Lewie had passed away, I just didn't know what to do. I wonder why God's prayers I sent him didn't work.. But God has a plan for everybody, and he didn't want Lewie to suffer any longer. By Lewie gone, his whole family took it hard I'd imagine, but they always thought of the good times they have had with him. Martin Family, I love every single one of you guys, and you are the strongest family I know. Just think of the good times and never the bad. R.I.P Lewis Martin, a man that is truely amazing. I love and miss you. I cannot wait to see you again.

"pops" What do I do now pops? You left me and the entire family far to early. Time may help numb this pain I am feeling since you have gone, but dad I will never be the same. Who is going to call me after I get off that big call at work asking what happened? Who do I call when I need directions Somewhere outside of Steuben county? Yea I can call Tim, Jim, or Aj but dad it's not the same. Your voice had a way of soothing me when I was lost or confused. Dad I respect the person you ARE yea I said ARE because I can't say was because anything past tense don't make sense when I talk about you. Dad your in my heart and on my mind and I would like to think your sitting beside me right now saying and I quote "don't be getting all sappy you wuss, you know everyone over town is gonna read this". Gosh what I would give to hear you tell me how I need to pull up my skirt on the race track and grow a pair, or how I should keep my 4 wheeler off the public roads because I work for the public. Oh how I regret getting upset when you got on my case over that because I always realized you were just saying that to make me a better person. Dad I hope I can accomplish half of what you have in your life. You always found a way to not only be a father but be my friend when I needed one. I will always stand up for my family no matter what just like u did. God forbid the person that said something about anyone with the last name Martin. Dad iam going to miss your little half finger and your funny laugh and the way u use to find a way to brush off rough times and reassure us that it's going to be ok. Iam going to miss the way you looked at grandma and the way u held her to a higher standard then anyone else and how you put your family first all the time. Now dad iam not bitter you left us iam bitter then a good man was taken to young. I feel as if there was more I wanted to learn from you. But I thought about it tonight and I see that u have given everything I need to know about how to be a family man, a hard worker and I stand out part of the community. We are small town dad but when you left us I suddenly felt like I was stuck in a big city all alone until I looked to my left and right and seen nothing but martins around me and then right then I realized DAD that we are going to be ok and that no we are not going on without we are going on with you in our hearts. Dad u may have left physically but your soul lives in all of us and u have left your loving seal on each and everyone u came in contact with. So dad I will take your advice and stop all this sappy stuff now. My only request to anyone reading this is that you take my words to heart and don't ever take a moment for granted with a loved one because u never know when you will be stuck in that big city alone. Dad I will love you forever and never forget the time I had with you thank u for everything and I will see you soon again. Rest in peace pops. 6/18/2012 a day that we lost a great husband, brother, uncle, dad, grandfather, and friend. This is not good bye but a " I will see you again someday". Love you pops.
