Theresa, I remember once in PE class Nick did something half-heartedly. Knowing what a great athlete he was I joked, you gotta give me more than that or I'm gonna tell your momma. The surprised look he gave me was one I had seen before in your own eyes. He was stunned to learn that we went "way back". He made a special effort after that as a clear sign of respect... and always had a grin

To the entire extended family: I am so sorry for your loss. Trooper Nicholas Clark is one of several NYS Troopers that come from Canisteo, and the Hornell area, including myself as I was honored to be a graduate of CCS and later the SP Academy in 1965. I am absolutely convinced that Nicholas was the most well-rounded of all Troopers from that area. His resume is most impressive. I am confident he was an outstanding Trooper, whose career and life was sadly and needlessly shortened. Again, I am so sorry for your loss, and extend my deepest sympathy..

We have known Nick and his family since he was in peewee football. Nick was raised in a tight knit community. He was a kind, caring young man who loved life... He will be missed by many. My daughter Kailey first met Nick at middle school age during Hammondsport boat dances, that is where I met him for the first time also, a nice polite young man. Later in life they continued their friendship at AU with Kailey having Theresa as professor at AU as well. My daughter often spoke of Nick. We are both profoundly sadden by his passing. Our condolences are with his mom, dad, brother and the rest of his entire family and friends. The tributes Nick has been given truly shows the caliber of the person he was. May he rest in peace.
