Grandma and I on one of our last trips to the farm. She was active as ever that day, fishing and kayaking. I have so many fond memories of her there. I miss her fun and adventurous spirit. She was always ready for anything.

I don't have just one memory of Aunt Sandy,. I have a whole childhood of wonderful memories. She was just a great person for me to know as a boy growing up. She was always good to me. Always understanding, and good advice was all I can remember her giving me. I'll always remember her. Just want to let her family know,. She meant an awful lot to me. God bless her . Love Gregg

I'm so sorry for your loss, the Rice family is in our thoughts and prayers. Offering condolences doesn't seem enough! Sandy became my "other" Mother after my Jr. year of high school when Keith and I started becoming friends. She was present (and supportive?) for many of my greatest ideas of my youth ranging from seeing how many packs of bubble gum I could fit in my mouth (which she froze and presented to me upon graduation) to writing "HELP" on Keith's shoes when he get married.
It always felt natural to check in with Sandy and Ralph on every visit home. She was present when my wife and I were married, she was the first person in Addison we showed off our baby girl to and she was every bit of a Mother and friend who I respected and loved like a son.
I'll miss those visits very much, sitting at the table in the kitchen talking about life and reliving memories. She and Ralph raised three wonderful men and who she was very proud of.
God Bless Sandy and the entire Rice family.
Love,
Jay

I’m so sorry to hear about Sandy. She was a pleasure to work with, and so kind to the students. I especially remember a trip to Knoebel’s that she and I chaperoned with Frank Bielski. I think she and I had more fun than the kids, and we talked several students into trying their first roller coaster.

I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of Mrs. Rice. She was always a wonderful spirit with in the schools as I knew her, first as a student then as a colleague and fellow teacher. I enjoyed her smile, gentle spirit, and way with the students. She was a wonderful example of an educator for everyone. My prayers are with all of the family and her friends who cherish her friendship.

My sincere condolences to Ralph and the rest of Sandy's family. I recall staying the night at her home when I was a much younger lad (hanging out with with Keith) and she was so kind and caring. She was always smiling and helpful to those less fortunate. My most heartfelt condolences to her family.

Heartfelt condolences go out to my Aunt Sandy’s family and friends. She will definitely be missed. As a child I had the opportunity to spend time with her and always enjoyed her humor, devilishness, and some pretty fancy hair dos. She made wonderful Halloween costumes for her boys. I particularly remember the “professional boxer” costumes the boys wore one year. She loved to laugh, had an infectious smile, and was always the lady with the beautiful red hair and quick wit.
Once I left Addison, our encounters were Infrequent, but she always greeted me with joy, humor, and the request to visit more frequently. When I colored my hair red, she complimented me on how great the color looked on me. On one of my visits a couple of years ago, she requested that I let her know when I was going to be in town so she would be free to spend time with me and get out of the house adding, “I love to have fun and I know that you’re always having fun!” What a wonderful compliment. Unfortunately we didn’t get the opportunity to “get away” and have fun because of her illness.
“Rest In Peace” are the common words people wish for those who have departed from life here with us. I pray that Aunt Sandy has peace of mind, but even more, I hope that she is able to exercise her wit and have great fun once again wherever and with whomever she encounters on her new path.
