I have fond memories of visiting Dorr in Rochester when I would come to see my Gramie (Beatrice, Dorr’s cousin).
There were also treasured, lively phone conversations about New York City, family history, politics and astrology. Plus, there was his humor and dry wit.
Dorr was my last close family member who knew well my mother, grandmother and our family history. I’m thankful that he was a part of my life and will deeply miss him. Dorr was a class act.
Thank you Dorr!
May you rest in peace...
I visited him a few months ago. I was prepared for him not to know who I was but he remembered more details about life in Midtown Manor than I could. I was impressed that he could recall names so quickly and that he was from his bed and though public radio and TV so very plugged into life. Quite a wonderful human being.
